Cheat A Little Catering Careers

We are looking for a variety of positions including servers, bartenders, and on-site chefs to join our great team of event pros. 


We’re an established, full-service catering company, well into our 14th year of business, and have a core group of event staff, but with multiple events daily every week, we seek to expand our team of on-call catering professionals. We’re considering all experience levels as our event staff are eager to train! All of our positions provide professional and courteous service at catered events in our client’s residences and at event venues throughout the bay area.

Warehouse/Driver

The warehouse assistant is responsible for loading and unloading catering equipment and food items in and out of vehicles.   


This position is also responsible for the delivery of hot and cold prepared food to specified locations, set-up and display of food, and providing excellent customer service. 


Position will include all other responsibilities designated by warehouse manager or other management staff.


Additional Responsibilities include:
• Keeping all inventory and equipment clean and organized at all times.
• Packing, delivery, set-up and breakdown of daily catering orders
• Work some evenings and weekends serving events as needed
• Run company errands
• Complies with all state of California Health and Safety codes.

• Performs other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requests in a timely manner
• Excellent attendance is required with schedule flexibility determined by business needs.
• Establish a culture of respect, hard work, consistency and effective communication.
 

Qualifications
• Must have current Serve safe card and food handlers card.
• Motivated self-starter
• Excellent time management skills.
• Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.
• Basic math and reasoning skills.
• Awareness of local, state and federal health and sanitation laws.
• Works well under pressure.
• Can effectively solve problems and think on their feet.
• Must possess valid driver’s licenses and clean driving record.
• Can work independently with little supervision.
Working Conditions
• Direct contact with guests, managers and employees.
• Behaves professionally and can be flexible in a changing environment.
• Must be able to carry loads greater than 50 pounds, and be able to transport up to 150 pounds regularly.

Server – Catering & Events

Server – Catering Events Responsibilities:
• Setup small catering requests and also large events (weddings, birthdays, corporate functions, bar/bat mitzvahs), including loading and unloading the van, setting up the food display, beverage service, and serve ware, making an attractive presentation
• Serve our clients and guests; passed hors d’oeuvres, stationary appetizers, buffet and themed food stations; plated sit-down dining
• Setting all rental serve ware (china package, glassware, linens, tables and chairs), and other services
• Provide basic beverage service, wine and beer bar, guest self-service stations, fill and replenish all beverages
• Buss/clear, clean-up and breakdown
• Provide additional server duties onsite at events; assisting our clients with various event-related tasks; setting floral centerpieces, lighting candles, party/wedding favors, printed menus, escort cards, etc.

Server – Catering Events Requirements:
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Ability to follow event timeline and agenda with attention to detail
• Must be capable of bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting and carrying catering equipment up to 35 lbs
• Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and at times extended hours
• Arrive timely at the event location directly to meet the catering van
• Previous catering industry work experience preferred, but we are considering those new to catering
• Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record required (for van driver shifts)

Bartender – Catering & Events

Bartender – Catering & Events Job Summary:


We are looking for bartenders to join our great team of event pros. We’re an established full-service catering company and have a core group of bartenders, but with multiple events daily every week, we seek to expand our team of on-call catering bartenders. Positions available for “wine and beer bartenders” and also “full bar/mixed cocktails bartenders.” The role of a Bartender provides bar beverage service at catered events in our client’s residences and at event venues throughout the bay area.

Bartender – Catering Events Responsibilities:
• Setup small catering requests and also large events (weddings, birthdays, corporate functions, bar/bat mitzvahs), including loading and unloading the van, setting up the bar and/or beverage station, making an efficient, yet attractive presentation
• Serve our clients and guests; tend bar at built-in bar or station, tray pass wine and cocktails, serve table-side (as needed)
• Prepare mixed drinks and specialty cocktails, pouring beer, wine, champagne and non-alcoholic beverages
• Setting all rental equipment (bar glassware, linens, tables, table risers, bar risers, mobile bars)
• Provide beverage service, wine and beer bar, cocktail bar, guest self-service stations, fill and replenish all beverages

Bartender – Catering Events Requirements:

We are looking for cooks and chefs to join our great team of event pros. We’re an established full-service catering company and have a core group of chefs, but with multiple events daily every week, we seek to expand our team of on-call catering chefs and cooks. We’re considering all experience levels as our lead chefs are eager to train! The role of a Chef/Cook provides culinary food service at catered events in our client’s residences and at event venues throughout the bay area. These are great positions for someone who may have a full-time job and seeking side work, flexibility with schedules, and for extra income!

Chef/Cook – On-Site – Catering Events Responsibilities:
• Setup small catering requests and also large events (weddings, birthdays, corporate functions, bar/bat mitzvahs), including loading and unloading the van, final prep/warming/cooking onsite, setting up the food display on platters/chafing dishes/themed stations, making an attractive presentation
• Prepare hot and cold foods per client and event needs
• Season and prepare food according to recipes and menu requirements
• Portion, arrange and garnish food, present attractively on platters, and serve to clients and guests
• Must follow all food and catering equipment safety rules and actively prevent errors and accidents
• Commitment to the service values and ethics of our company, and to convey this to our clients and guests
• Clean-up and breakdown at end of event


Chef/Cook – On-Site – Catering Events Requirements:
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Ability to follow event timeline and agenda with attention to detail, and take direction well; In a senior or lead role, must have the ability to lead in a positive and professional manner
• Must be able to correctly and safely use standard kitchen and cooking equipment: Chef knives, ovens, meat and cheese slicing machines, steamers, mandolins, grills, broilers, etc.
• Must be capable of bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting and carrying catering equipment up to 35 lbs
• Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and at times extended hours
• Arrive timely at the event location directly to meet the catering van
• Previous chef/cook work experience required; catering industry preferred, but we are considering previous work in restaurants, corporate on-site, conventions, or similar
• Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record required (for van driver shifts)
